There’s no car I really hate. There’s cars I like, and cars I’m not interested in. But I’ve learned that almost every car has people who love it, and even if we don’t love the same cars, we can share and bond over our common illogical love of cars. Is there any car that no one loves?

Having owned a cavalier I can’t hate them. It did 40mpg and never needed any repairs in the 3 years and 30k+ miles I owned it. Slow, not particularly nice to look at, not a wonderful place to spend time, but worlds better than some other cars ('11ish Camry, early 00's Malibu, PT cruiser).

A rental spec Hyundai Accent sedan. They have keyless entry, power windows, but not cruise control. There is nothing good about this car.

Chevy would kill to have their sales numbers for the SS, but I wouldn’t say extremely well. They sell about 4-5X as many X5s a year as the X6.

I do hate them, but that’s just personal.... I suppose. I’m a little embarrassed for my country that 6K of these behomoths were sold last year. It’s neither a car nor an SUV. I could forgive that if it offered the benefits of both; instead it just splits the difference between the types and doesn’t accomplish the goals of either. And, they’re expensive as all hell. You’d get a better ride with a 5-series, more capability with an X5, and both are cheaper. Have Buku cash and want to show off? Get a G-wagon and roll like a Sheik; at least that’s got some outdated class.

Then, you compound all those problems with fact they’re hideous. Look, I’m trying to be forgiving, and sure it looks aggressive, but so do hippos. Doesn’t mean I want to ever be within 10 feet of being inside one, unless I’m freezing on a tundra on hoth.

If one of my friends or family buys one of these for any reason other than “depreciation, I got it for a steal,” I can’t imagine continuing a relationship with them. Thank God BMW came out with the 2-series; I’d started to lose some faith after 8 years of compromised crap like these.

At least a Murano Cabriolet doesn’t start at more than the average annual household income. X6s are for people who want everyone to know they wipe their ass with $50s :-P

I don’t really judge anyone this much for their car purchase— but it’s fun to vent.

I actually like the Prius and believe it is one of the best cars Toyota has ever made. It was meant to serve a purpose and it does it amazingly well. Add to that the fact you can get them fairly cheap on the second hand market and they are amazing. I'm contemplating getting one as a second car tbh.

I am 100% with you in the Cavalier. Always thought only shitheads bought them. Then my wife, while 6 months pregnant, got hit by a red light running redneck named Colette in a Cavalier. Confirmed my suspicions of it being the shitheads’ car of choice.

40mpg and reliable through 30k miles? How does that separate it from 75% of the cars on the road today? I own a fucking Abarth 500 that meets those requirements right now, except it's actually fun to drive.

In my hometown (very small town in the midwest, not Iowa but pretty much Iowa) there were quite a few these stupid things, every generation. A close friend’s family bought a brand new one every few years because they liked them so much, never sold the ones just handed them off to one of their kids. I know at least one of them is still on the road today.

Yeah, southwest Minnesota for me, a couple hours from Minneapolis. But I live on the left side of the country these days. The one that took me out was an olds intrigue. Don’t think I’ve seen one of those in quite a few years now.
